It calculates the Total League Points a team earns based on their record (Wins, Draws, Losses) using standard or custom scoring rules.

What is a Football Points Calculator?

Football Points Calculator is a gaming utility designed for Fantasy Football managers (like FPL, Sky Sports, or DraftKings). It calculates the total fantasy score a player earns based on their real-world match actions.

Fantasy leagues assign specific point values to actions: a Goal is worth more for a Defender than a Striker, and a Clean Sheet is vital for a Goalkeeper. Calculating this manually for your whole squad while watching a live game is difficult. This calculator automates the rules. By inputting Minutes PlayedGoalsAssists, and Cards, it generates the player’s Gameweek Score. It features History to track form, Save Calculation to log potential transfers, and WhatsApp Share to brag about your triple-captain choice to your mini-league.

Benefits of Using a Football Points Calculator

Winning your mini-league requires precise math. Using this tool gives you an edge:

  • Captain Choice: Calculate “What If” scenarios. If Salah scores 1 goal vs. Haaland scoring 2, who gets more points?
  • Transfer Planning: Check if a defender’s recent high scores are due to sustainable clean sheets or lucky goals.
  • Bonus Point Prediction: Estimate BPS (Bonus Points System) based on pass completion and tackles to see if your player will get the extra +3 points.
  • Bench Decisions: Decide who to bench by calculating their average points per game vs. the upcoming opponent difficulty.
  • Live Tracking: Calculate your score before the official app updates to know if you’ve beaten your rival.

Real-Life Example

Scenario:
“Defender Trent” played 90 minutes, scored 1 Goal, kept a Clean Sheet, but got a Yellow Card.

The Calculation:

Step 1: Base Points

  • Played 60+ mins: +2.

Step 2: Attacking Returns

  • Goal (Defender): +6.

Step 3: Defensive Returns

  • Clean Sheet (Defender): +4.

Step 4: Deductions

  • Yellow Card: -1.

Step 5: Total
2 + 6 + 4 – 1 = 11 Points. (Plus potential Bonus Points).

The Result:
Trent scored 11 Points.

  • Action: The manager saves this huge haul and shares it with the league group chat.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

1. Does a Clean Sheet count if substituted?

Yes. If a player plays 60+ minutes and leaves the field while the score is 0-0, they keep the Clean Sheet points (+4), even if their team concedes later.

2. How are assists calculated?

Fantasy assists are generous. Winning a penalty, having a shot rebounded, or hitting the post before a teammate scores often counts as an assist (+3).

3. Why do Midfielders get 5 for a goal?

To balance the game. Strikers score more often, so they get fewer points (4). Midfielders score less often, so they get more (5). Defenders get the most (6).

4. What is the Captain Multiplier?

Your Captain gets 2x the total points calculated here. Your Vice-Captain takes over if the Captain doesn’t play 1 minute.

5. Do Red Cards affect Clean Sheets?

If a player gets a Red Card, they continue to be penalized for goals conceded by their team even after they have left the pitch.

6. Can I use this for DraftKings/FanDuel?

Those platforms use different scoring (e.g., points for shots, crosses, tackles). Look for a specific “DFS Mode” toggle in the calculator to adjust the point values.
